New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation provides students the opportunity to make the connections they need to be Wildcat ready for their first semester at the University of Arizona.  During the program students will hear from their academic college, meet with an advisor about course selection, register into their first semester courses, have a chance to talk with campus services (including financial aid and housing), and will receive their student ID card, the CatCard.

Registration for New Student Orientation takes place in the Next Steps Center (nextsteps.arizona.edu).   Once a student has completed the Enrollment Deposit process they are eligible to register for an upcoming program.  Please know that when a student logs in to Next Steps to register, they will be presented with all available orientation options based upon their academic college and major. Two students who have majors in different academic colleges may see different orientation options, even if they attempt to register at the same time.  To ensure the greatest variety of program options, students should register for orientation as soon as they have completed the UA Enrollment Deposit process.

While the majority of our programs occur on campus in Tucson in May and June, the UA is offering two additional options for non-resident students outside of Arizona.  New Student Orientation is heading to New York, NY on April 16, 2011 and to Seattle, WA on May 1, 2011, bringing the UA to students who reside in those regions.  These programs will allow non-resident students to complete the orientation process closer to home, in lieu of making the journey to Tucson for both orientation and August move-in and welcome.
