Entrance Requirements & Guidelines for International Students
Upon receipt of your complete application, we will review your academic records and notify you of our decision. If admitted, you will receive an admission packet, including the I-20 Form to obtain the necessary visa to enter the United States.
If you have attended any other institution of higher education you must submit all official transcripts from each institution. Failure to declare a full academic record may lead to dismissal from The University of Arizona.
For freshmen applicants still attending high school: Submit official records for all subjects taken in grades 9,10 and 11. For freshman admission, a minimum GPA of 3.00 (A=4.00) is required. For O-level, a minimum of 5 passes (grade of 'C' or higher only) is required.
For freshmen applicants who have completed high school: Submit official records for all subjects taken in the final four years of secondary school and a certified copy of diploma or leaving certificate. If national examinations are given in your country, submit an official certificate from the Examining Board showing subjects taken and grades earned. For freshman admission, a minimum GPA of 3.00 (A=4.00) is required. For O-level, a minimum of 5 passes (grade of 'C' or higher only) is required.
For transfer applicants: Applicants who have completed secondary education and have completed at least 24 transferable units of post-secondary course work are considered as transfer students. Transfer students must submit official records (transcripts) listing all subjects taken and grades earned at the post-secondary institution(s). A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 (A=4.00) is required for admission consideration. Secondary education records are also required.
All academic records must be originals or certified copies with the original seal of the issuing institution or Ministry of Education, signed by an appropriate authority. Records must be in your language with officially certified English translations. Credentials certified by a notary public, commissioner of oaths or sworn translator are not accepted. All U.S. transcripts must be sent to our office directly from the institution attended.
Important: check out your individual Country Requirements
Transfer credit: We will evaluate your post-secondary course work, certificates of GCE-A-level, IB and AP result reports for transfer credit. The University of Arizona, however, only admits students with transfer credit from international post-secondary institutions which are recognized by the Ministry of Education as degree-granting institutions and from American post- secondary institutions accredited by a Regional Accreditation Association.
