It’s the break that we’ve all been waiting for, THANKSGIVING!
The week is slowly coming to an end and with winter break and holiday season right around the corner. You’re glad you finally get to catch a break from homework, essays and projects. You’re exhausted from your lack of sleep, and you just want to relax. Here are some awesome things about Thanksgiving break:
1. Netflix, we meet again.
Thanks to the beauty of Netflix, we are able to watch full seasons of television shows without commercial interruptions. Personally, I plan on treating myself by watching an entire season of television shows that I haven’t been able to watch over the semester as a way of pampering myself for the job well done for the hectic week prior to Thanksgiving break.
When not watching episode after episode on Netflix, you will find yourself sleeping to make up for all of the times you pulled all-nighters. It will be beautiful, going to bed at 1am and waking up at 4pm, feeling so rested that you fall back asleep again.
3. Rediscovering what real food tastes like
Thank you, mom for being the one person that care about my appetite and preparing meals the exact same way it has always been. My food intake rises recklessly during this time of the year, but because I’m only around to enjoy the food for a few days. I try to cosume as much food as possible.
4. Realizing how awesome your parents are
Sure, growing up you’ve had your differences with your parents, but since being in college and maturing over the years, we’ve come to realize that our parents are the best and coolest people in the world. Now that we’re more grown up, they are now able to open up more about themselves, share their crazy stories of growing up, and of course, giving us their wisdom.
5. Having your privacy
If you’re living in the residence halls, it’s a little more difficult to have alone time, compared to those who live in an apartment with roommates. Regardless of the living arrangements, going home means that your family will understand that you need some privacy and are willing to provide you with the time to rejuvenate and relax.
