Homecoming: A Tradition Unlike Any Other
The year was 1914 and the University of Arizona football had just beaten Pomona 7-6 in the very first Homecoming game. 103 years later, the tradition continues.
This past month we celebrated our 2017 Homecoming in style!
More than 50,000 alumni descended upon Tucson this weekend as the University of Arizona hosted it’s annual Homecoming festivities. The week kicked off with the lighting of ‘A’ Mountain and concluded with the football game against Washington State.
There’s truly nothing like Homecoming at the UA. The spirit, passion, and tradition is unmatched by any other University. When you come to the UA, you’ll feel this same passion and spirit as well. You’ll feel it when watching the lighting of ‘A’ Mountain on top of Main Gate garage. You’ll feel it roaming the vast ‘Wildcat for Life’ tailgate on the mall on gameday. You’ll feel it as you meet alumni who graduated 40, 50, 60 years ago. You’ll feel it as the Zona Zoo roars around you as we cheer on our Cats. You’ll feel it when the game is over, the dust is settled, and you’ve realized there’s no place you’d rather be than be surrounded by your Wildcat Family.
