General Information and Guidelines for Re-admisison
It is your responsibility to have official transcripts sent directly to the Office of Admissions from each institution that you have attended since leaving the University of Arizona. Your application will be reviewed only after all transcripts have been received. If you are currently enrolled at another institution, do not wait until you have finished course work to send a transcript. The Office of Admissions requires you to send transcripts with all but your final semester grades.
-
Example: You want to enroll in the fall semester of 2009. The Office of Admissions requires you to submit transcripts from all institutions attended through the fall semester of 2008.
If you contact a UA college dean or advisor, he or she may ask you to send your grades for the semester in progress before making a readmission decision. Do not wait to send your transcript for courses that are completed. If you don’t send the required transcripts, you will not meet the admission deadline and will not be considered for the desired semester. Once you complete the semester in progress, have your transcript sent again.

GPA calculations for admissions purposes
The Office of Admissions calculates your GPA from the time of your last enrollment at the University of Arizona.
- Example: If your last semester at UA was fall 2008, your GPA will be calculated beginning with course work completed in the spring 2009.
If you attended more than one institution, we will calculate a cumulative GPA from all schools attended. All college-level grades are used to calculate your GPA, including any courses repeated for a better grade.
- Example: If you received a grade of “F” for a course at another institution, repeated it and received a “B,” both grades will be used to calculate your GPA.
We do not include workshops, seminars, or certain technical courses in the calculation since these courses are not transferable.
Processing time
Readmission applications are processed on a first-in, first-out basis. If you left in good standing, you can expect the process to take four to six weeks from the time we receive your complete application. This time frame may increase during our peak processing time. If you left on academic probation or disqualification, you can expect the process to take up to 12 weeks. It takes longer because the Office of Admissions does not make admission decisions for students who did not leave in good academic standing. We process your application, and then forward it to the college of your choice. The college will notify the Office of Admissions when a decision has been made. From there, the Office of Admissions will notify you.
Evaluation of transfer credit
For students in good standing, evaluation of transfer credit takes place at the time of admission. For those students on probation or disqualification, evaluation takes place at the time we submit your application to the college of your choice. The advisors use this information to help them make a decision. You will receive notification of your transfer credit if and when you are admitted.
Will I be readmitted?
If you left in good standing, you will be readmitted by the Office of Admissions providing you have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.0 from all institutions attended since leaving the University of Arizona. If your cumulative GPA is below 2.0, your name will be forwarded to the college for its recommendation. If you left on academic probation or disqualification, you need to contact the college of your choice to obtain its criteria for readmission. The college will make all admission decisions. Generally, students are expected to apply after completing 24 units of transferable college course work with a cumulative grade point average of 3.000 or higher.
Domicile affidavit
The affidavit on the reverse of the application for readmission must be completed in order for your application to be processed. This is regardless of your residency status at the time you last attended UA. Residents are required to pay a $50 non-transferable, non-refundable application-processing fee; non-residents pay a $65 non-transferable, non-refundable, application-processing fee. Please make your check or money order payable to the University of Arizona.
