Meet Randall Rehak
Transitioning to the UA seemed like the next logical step in his academic life.
Coming from a local community college Randall was surprised at how easy it was to go from one place to the other. “The transition was smoother than I expected,” he explains “It’s close to home, love the campus and love the classes there.” Whether moving from across the country, abroad, or only a few miles, the UA has made it easier than ever to transfer.
Although potential transfer students often worry about bumps in the transition process, the UA has several departments dedicated to making the process of coming to UA a simple one. “The Transfer Student Center was great!” says Randall. The Transfer Student Center, together with the Advising Resource Center, Veterans Education and Transition Services are at every transfer student’s disposal no matter what their needs may be.
While the move was not difficult in distance, understanding and adjusting to university life seemed a bit daunting for Randall. “The cost structure needed the most explaining. Going from a community college where you pay per credit hour to UA’s structure… I’m still not sure if I understand it all.” However, the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, along with the transfer resources, helped ease Randall’s concerns about paying for school and answered his questions. “I worked with financial aid just through e-mail. They were prompt and helped me right away.”
Now that Randall has finished his transition process, the final step is to begin classes and live the lifestyle of a university student and, more importantly, a Wildcat.
