The Honors College

Top academic achievers who are admitted to The Honors College benefit from the UA’s vast resources while they are challenged by a highly supportive peer group of elite students. Math Placement

Math requirements differ depending on what UA major you choose. All students who want to take a UA math course at or below the calculus I level must take the UA Math Placement test and meet the eligibility requirements before registering for a UA Math course. Information about how to test is available through math.arizona.edu/placement and in the Online Academic Tour. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that all the Math Testing and Placement steps have been completed before attending New Student Orientation.
New Start

New Start offers course credit while easing the transition to life at UA. The general education course, which offers up to five credits, helps freshmen achieve academic and personal success, and connect to essential university resources. New Start is sponsored by the Department of Multicultural Affairs and Student Success. New Start happens during the summer before your first semester.
Pre-Health Professions Advising Center

The Pre-Health Professions Advising Center will help you navigate all your choices for undergraduate studies, explore your long-term opportunities, assess your skills and zero-in on your health-related niche. Pre-Law Office

If you want to study law, the Pre-Law Office can answer all your questions about how to prepare for law school. The UA doesn’t offer a pre-law major, so a pre-law advisor can help you choose a major and minor that suit you while preparing you for the challenges of law school. See a presentation at orientation.
SALT Center (Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques)

Students dealing with learning or attention challenges can find the support they need to optimize their learning experiences at the SALT Center. Using individually tailored support programs, SALT learning specialists empower students for higher learning. One-on-one and group tutoring, and various learning-assistance technologies are offered, as well as social and academic programs.

University College

If you don’t yet know what major to pursue, University College is designed for you. University College offers academic programs, services and activities that let you learn while you explore your academic options. Examples are the “Meet Your Major Fair” held every fall, featuring all undergraduate programs. The Pre-Health Professions Advising Center and Pre-Law Office also are helpful resources within University College.
Writing Placement
