Keeping That Belly Full
In order to make ends meet, I have become quite the thrifty shopper, coupon master, a creative chef, and have found odd ways to either make, or to save money. Not only does the UA area have super awesome but affordable farmer’s markets to shop from, but there are also tons of resources to get that belly full!
Stir-fry is my best friend. Ramen noodles can be bought for less than $.50 a package, combined with vegetables (carrots, broccoli, bean sprouts, etc), meat (whatever is on sale)/tofu and teriyaki sauce is the perfect combination of different textures and creates a unique deliciousness that can be cooked in less than 10 minutes!
However, if cooking at home is not your forte and want to eat out, instead of going to McDonalds, try out IQ Fresh located at the Student Union. As IQ Fresh states, “IQ products are natural, preservative-free, and just plain scrumptious.” YUM.
Whether you're living situation is in a dorm, an apartment, or even a house with roommates, at some point, you may begin to feel that the pantry may be lacking that grub here and there. This is where UA Campus Pantry comes in and aids our slacking pantries. Their mission statement says it all, “The mission of the UA Campus Pantry is to provide a direct response to the growing need among the student population for increased aid and resources on the campus of the University of Arizona.”
So with these tips in mind, fellow and future Wildcats, keep that belly full and out of hunger!
