Why I chose the University of Arizona
Many people ask me why I, a California native, would venture to attend college at the University of Arizona. Why would I leave the beaches and year round 72-degree weather for the Sonoran desert?
While certainly a change of scenery from San Diego, the city of Tucson is also a beautiful place to live! I can’t get enough of the view looking out towards the Catalina Mountains. Tucson has unique monsoon rains in the summer and fall months that make for spectacular sunsets. Overall I was drawn to the unique southwestern feel of Tucson including the saguaros and the many delicious Mexican food options!
Another great thing about Tucson is that the people enthusiastically support the University of Arizona, particularly at basketball and football games. I knew the University of Arizona would allow me to have a rich college experience. The students and community are spirited, proud of their school and their sports teams.
Academically I was drawn to the nationally ranked musical theatre program but I knew that I had many great options of study at the U of A. Now that I have nearly completed my college journey I am truly happy to say I am and will be a part of the Wildcat family.
